Christina, I wrote that post at the start of our three weeks, and have just 2 more days plus the weekend before camp starts, and I'm actually going to miss them. Not that I've never missed them before, but it's different this time, since this really truly is the first time I've had this much time, with them, just me (and, okay, their dad in the mornings and at night!). Today we ate lunch at Panera, and looking at them across from me I felt wistful. So all in all, a good experience!

Funny--today is my first day alone with Lucy (she starts day camp next week and we were away until recently) and I got her hair cut too! Then we went to the library, then the dentist. Now she has a friend sleeping over and they are watching HSM for the millionth time.

We've got four more days of togetherness to go. I'm looking forward to it--but it also gets to be a challenge after a while.

Nice. I love moments in the shade with a nice breeze and watching my kids play. Glad you got a little time like this!

I love lazy summer days. I have really good memories of the days I spent with the boys (when I just had the two of them) and we didn't have to rush off anywhere first thing in the morning. Summer break in Japan is really short - it begins next week and goes until September 1st.
I remember those banana seat bicycles so well! and the sparkly handlebars.

I'm all over the lazy mornings. I always sign Ella up for lessons and camp, thinking a 9 am start time isn't THAT early, but after a few blissful days of sleeping in, I always regret having to set an alarm.

What a sweet post, Denise! My kids are 13 and 11 now, but I've got lots of good memories of hanging out with them during the summer -- and of sending them off to camp :-).
